InstagramIs there a better place to celebrate Valentine's Day than the happiest place on earth?
Sarah Hyland and Dominic Sherwood celebrated the holiday by visiting Disneyland in Anaheim, Calif. The Modern Family actress was photographed holding hands with Sherwood, who plays Taylor Swift's love interest in the recently released "Style" music video, as they navigated their way through the park with pals Allan Avendaño, Ian Hyland, Elliot Knight, Keiynan Lonsdale, Rob Marsala and Chris Rosson.
The TV star was dressed appropriately in a Pocahontas tank top and a Minnie Mouse hat.
The setting was perfect for the new couple, as Sarah tweeted, "Fireworks on Valentine's Day? Check."
Sarah, 24, and Dominic, 25, also shared pictures with fans via Instagram. "Disneyland weekend with these fools at Disneyland!!!! (and that's my brother in the middle)," Sarah said of a sepia-toned photo. In a photo caption on Instagram, Dominic raved, "What a great weekend with some wonderful people!"
Earlier that afternoon, Sarah shared a special message with her 1.11 million Twitter followers: "Happy Valentine's Day lovebirds!!!!!! Time to stuff your face with chocolate, smell pretty flowers and hold your loved ones tighter!" the Beauty and the Geek actress tweeted. "Remember Valentine's Day isn't about being in a relationship, it's about celebrating love. (In my opinion) & love is a many splendored thing."
Sarah and Dominic met on the set of the 2014 movie Vampire Academy. The co-stars began spending more time together in November, just three months after Sarah called it quits with Matt Prokop, her boyfriend of five years. "They thought they would be better off as friends," a source told E! News at the time. "It was amicable." Except it wasn't. Roughly a month later, Sarah secured a temporary (and later permanent) restraining order against her ex, alleging that the High School Musical 3: Senior Year star had physically and verbally abused her during their relationship and threatened her after she ended it.
The actress hasn't spoken very much about her breakup with Matt, though she did tell E! News in October 2014 that she was doing "great" and is a "really positive person."
And, in Cosmopolitan's March 2015 issue, the actress revealed what she has learned about love. "Everyone deserves it," Sarah said.
Indeed they do.
