It Is Not Jessica Simpson's Fault the Cowboys Lost

Jessica Simpson has never really done anything to make us like her. Her music irritates us (seriously, why would you ever cover "Take My Breath Away"?), her fashion choices are consistently misguided, her dad is, um, overly involved and we will never, ever purchase a pair of Jessica Simpson shoes.

But homegirl really needs us right now, and we don't ditch our girlfriends in a time of crisis.

You see, as all the world knows, the Cowboys lost last night—they will not be going to the Super Bowl.

It's tragic, really. But now, all the blame is on Jessica (again!) because QB Tony Romo spent a few days in Mexico with her. The thing is, Jess didn't even attend the game in order to avoid the whole bad-luck-charm thing.

Tony is unapologetic: "I don't live with regrets. When I made the choice for those things, I thought I was making a good decision. Not going to Vegas and drinking for two or three days. Just trying to get away and not be around people."

Then lo and behold, an uncharacteristically teary Terrell Owens sort of came to Jess' defense: "This is not about Tony. You guys can point the finger at him, you can talk about the vacation, and if you do that, it's really unfair...We lost as a team, man."

It sucks the Cowboys lost, but football fans are really taking their Jessica Simpson hate to a new level. Ease up on the girl, or at least find a legitimate reason to make fun of her.
