Sam Smith won four Grammys Sunday, and that (of course) called for a celebration!

"The Stay With Me" singer admitted to being "monumentally hungover" the next morning, so we figured he had a grand ol' time sipping champagne with the stars. In actuality, though, Sam told Ellen DeGeneres that it was fast food and family that kept him up all night long!

"It'd been such a ridiculous night, I didn't want to go to any of the celebrity parties," he said. "So I went to my label's house in the hills—I flew my mum and my dad and my little sisters out, and we all had some In-N-Out, and that's what we did."

He did sleep "for like four hours," he said with a chuckle. "I've had to put a lot of makeup on my face to not look red!"

The 22-year-old British star went on to confirm that he and boyfriend Jonathan Zeizel broke up "about three weeks ago," adding jokingly, "I couldn't bring In the Lonely Hour and go to the Grammys with someone. I had to be 'lonely' for the Grammys!"

Ellen warned Sam he'll "have to be careful" moving forward in the dating world, "because people are gonna be all over you, and you have to know that they want you for the right reasons."

"Very true," he said, adding laughingly, "I've just got to make sure my next boyfriend can polish my Grammys for me!"

He's kidding about that, of course, but was Sam serious when he told Rolling Stone that if he won the grammy for Best Album (which ultimately went to Beck), he would give it to Beyoncé? Watch the clip above to find out!
