The 2015 Grammys are known for being an awards show where stars can really push boundaries. Though mostly everyone looked positively radiant, there was a complete lack of theatrical beauty looks.

One of the biggest beauty surprises of the night was that there were no surprises! Despite the noticeable lack of bold lips or wild looks—minus Jennifer Hudson and Miranda Lambert's bright fuchsia pout lip—we were still left with plenty of stunning looks to talk about.

Together with our E! Style Collective members, who voiced their opinions over social media, we break down a few of our favorite beauty trends of the night.

We did see was some illuminated, elevated and Grammy-fied minimal makeup looks from Beyoncé, Miley Cyrus and Rihanna. Makeup artist Mylah Morales really played up the RiRi's brows, making her look less like a bad girl and more like a lovely ballerina.

Stars like Rita Ora, Lady Gaga and Kim Kardashian wore smokey-cat-eye combos that ranged from gorgeous neutrals to intense charcoals.

On the softer side of the eye trend, Kim K's makeup artist Mario Dedivanovic gave Mrs. Kardashian-West a soft, gold smokey eye with hints of pale moss and emerald. The tight-lined cat-eye blended well into the smoke of it all. The contouring was kept to a minimum so that the whole look really stood out as one golden piece of art.

Beauty guru and E! Style Collective member Karen Gonzalez weighed in on the look.

"No matter what she does, she is always looking fabulous!" noted the makeup artist. "Her skin, new cut and makeup are perfection."

Rita's black-grey smokey and subtle cat-eye was on-point with the perfect dash of tear duct-highlight, a pale nude lip and intense brows to round out the look.

As for the die-hard cat-eyes, Ariana Grande, Madonna and Gwen Stefani all had their wings on.

Keri Russell's makeup artist Tina Turnbow was digging Gwen's eye look. "Lovely soft hues of taupe makeup work so well with this beauty," she said.

A definitive stand-out came from makeup artist and E! Style Collective member Jake Bailey's eyeliner work on Katy Perry.

As for the hair, the most predominant trend was all about a slicked-back, wet look sported by stars like Jessie J.

London-based hairdresser Alisha Dobson must have used the ultimate boar brush to get Jessie's slick look so tight. We seriously wanted to touch it!

Hairstylist Marc Mena predicted the wet look was going to be a thing at the Grammys, and showed love for the "Bang Bang" singer.

"Jessie J, I'm loving the wet hair look. Be courageous and rock the wet hair," he said on Instagram.

We actually got to the root of some cool hair risks from singer Bonnie McKee and Katy Perry, which was a favorite of celebrity hairdresser Jennifer J.

"Katy Perry took a huge risk by darkening her roots on her purple-to-lavender ombré and it paid off big," said Jennifer J via Instagram. "It really complements her skin tone and adds a more natural element to her funky hue."

One cool hair comeback was from the long beachy hair looks. Hairstyle chameleon Queen Bey seriously worked it with her minimal makeup look. Beyoncé's hairdresser, Kim Kimble, agreed.

"My opinion may be a little biased because I did her hair, but I think Beyoncé SHUT. THAT. CARPET. DOWN," she said.

So the minimal makeup look was still in full force, hair is seeing some fun evolution and long waves never really left us.

Now the countdown begins for the next beauty showcase: the Oscars!
