You have one ex-girlfriend and an on again, off again girlfriend in the audience at the Grammys and you're about to take the stage. What do you do?!

If you're John Mayer, you just perform what is probably every woman's future first dance song with Ed Sheeran.

Both Taylor Swift and Katy Perry looked on as Mayer backed up Sheeran to perform "Thinking Out Loud," and he looked really good doing it. Especially with that hot pink guitar. Not many dudes could pull that off.

But the real star of the song was of course 23-year-old Grammy nominee Ed Sheeran, who crooned his way into the hearts of everyone in that room. And that song, with lyrics like "darling, I will be loving you 'til we're 70" and "I fall in love with you every single day," is almost definitely now on the top of everyone's "future wedding songs" list.

Even Kelly Clarkson couldn't resist the Ed Sheeran charm:

And it's sort of awkward that Ed Sheeran, who is best friends with Taylor Swift, sang a love song with her ex-boyfriend while she sat in the audience, right? Hollywood is weird.

While guest-hosting The Late Late Show, Mayer made a joke about attending the Grammys with his famous ex.

"You can see me at the Grammys doing what I do best. Being avoided by Taylor Swift," Mayer said. Well, he's probably not wrong.

Alas, we didn't see a single camera pan to Taylor or Katy during the performance. You producers had one job!

Electric Light Orchestra also took the stage to perform "Evil Woman," and then Ed Sheeran joined them to rock out to "Mr. Blue Sky."
