Now you may be asking yourself why the self-proclaimed diva chose to sing that particular song? Well, here's a bit of background that may answer that very question...
"Take My Hand, Precious Lord" was said to be one of Martin Luther King Jr.'s favorite songs and the great civil rights leader reportedly requested that it be performed at his funeral.
Many famous singers in the past have tried their hand at covering the song, including Aretha Franklin and Elvis Presley. So it's safe to say that Beyoncé is in some pretty good company!
The track lead into Common and John Legend singing their Golden Globe-winning duet for Selma, entitled "Glory."
The emotional track closed out the 57th Annual Grammy Awards and brought the house to their feet for one last time this evening.
