Doink doink. Fans of Law and Order, are you sitting down? (Why wouldn't you be, unless you're at a standing desk or walking while reading this on your phone, in that case, look up you're about to walk into a pole).

According to reports, NBC is looking at bringing back the mothership, Law and Order original flavor. Everything old is new again!

Deadline reports talks about bringing Law and Order back for a limited series are starting, but nothing is in development just yet. It could be 10 episodes with members of the original cast, including Chris Noth and Sam Waterston, returning to the fold. NBC did not immediately respond to request for comment.

Revivals of popular brands are all the rage these days. NBC is bringing Heroes back with a miniseries event, Heroes Reborn. Fox brought 24 back with 24: Live Another Day and has discussed a new X-Files series starring Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny. The Comeback recently returned for a second season almost 10 years after its first one aired on HBO and David Lynch is bringing Twin Peaks back to life on Showtime in 2016, 25 years later.

Law and Order was canceled in 2010 after 20 seasons on the air, tying Gunsmoke as the longest-running primetime US drama series. Its spinoff, Law and Order: SVU, was just renewed for a season 17, making it the longest-running drama on TV right now.
