The Love Actually star and husband Jack McManus welcomed their first child Wednesday: a baby boy named Rafferty!
The 38-year-old actress tweeted about her happy news the next day, writing, "Baby Rafferty is beautiful! Mop of dark hair, heart shaped face and Cupid lips - I'm in love big time :-)
Rafferty's father is also smitten! He told Hello! magazine, who was first to report on the infant's arrival, that Rafferty weighed in at 6 pounds, 14 ounces. "Mum and baby are both beautiful and doing well," said the 30-year-old singer, "and I'm the proudest Dad in the world right now. X"
Martine previously told the mag that the pregnancy had brought the couple "a joy we never knew existed."
"We'd always said that if we were fortunate to be blessed with a child, that would be wonderful, but we were very aware that it's not a given," she explained.
Rafferty was actually born a few days early (he wasn't due until Feb. 14!), but luckily his parents already had his nursery prepared. It might have been thanks to mother's intuition, because Martine wrote just last Friday in her Hello! blog, "It's very likely that next time I write my blog I will have a little bubba next to me!!"
She was right! Congratulations to the happy family!
