Eddie Redmayne could have been in Magic Mike.

We're serious!

Just take a look at him in Jupiter Ascending (in theaters tomorrow).

Redmayne's six-pack is quite impressive.

"I don't have abs," he insisted at the sci-fi flick's premiere earlier this week. "They only appeared after months of crunches for this film because my character had to. It's always  horrific when you read in a script…when someone's described as being vain and topless. It's like, 'Oh, God!'"

In the film, Mila Kunis plays a cleaning lady who learns she's the queen of the universe. Redmayne is the evil tyrant ruling the universe who is determined to kill Kunis before she takes control of his outer space empire. Channing Tatum plays a mutant warrior who must find Kunis and bring her to their planet.

Redmayne also realizes how fortunate he is. "What a privilege," he said. "When you make these films, you get trainers!"

However, he said his trainer had to "force" him to do sit-ups. "Seriously, I don't have much self-discipline," Redmayne said.

So who has the better abs—Redmayne or Tatum?

"Definitely, Channing Tatum!" Redmayne said. "Channing Tatum has an entire film series based around the brilliance of his abs."

While we think Redmayne is selling himself short, he does have a point.

And we saw some freshly minted proof earlier today when Tatum made a surprise appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show to debut a new trailer for Magic Mike XXL.

He and his co-stars, including Matt Bomer, Joe Manganiello and Adam Rodriguez, show off their bodies in enough of a tease to have us wishing July was here sooner than later.

Tatum told DeGeneres he wasn't going to wax his body again for the sequel because the first time was so not pleasant, but Bomer insisted he use his manscaping lady.

"After they started they said, 'Oh, no, you're a ginger,'" Tatum said. "I have like a little red, and they're like, 'It's always the worse for them.' And I'm like, 'Then why did you start?

Why didn't you tell me this beforehand?' But that was a terrible idea to do that.

You should call us next time, Channing. We promise to be gentle.
