Watch: Donald Trump Weighs in on Bobbi Kristina Tragedy

Donald Trump has weighed in on the tragedy surrounding Bobbi Kristina Brown's hospitalization, as her late mother, Whitney Houston, was one of his good friends.

Trump talked to E! News about the 21-year-old's near-drowning accident, saying that what has happened is "very sad." Calling upon Houston's tumultuous life, Trump said that it's just awful that this could now happen to her daughter.

"[Whitney] has had a tragic life, and now to have this happen to her child is very, very sad," he told E! News.

As E! News previously reported, Bobbi Kristina was found submerged in her bathtub, unresponsive. Her father, Bobby Brown, released a statement saying that he and police are "currently investigating the events that led to the hospitalization" of his daughter.

Earlier this week Bobby thanked friends and fans for all of the support he had received but also requested that he and his family be left alone while he stays by his daughter's side at a hospital in Georgia.

"We continue to request privacy in this matter," Brown concluded. "Please allow for our family to deal with this matter and give Bobbi Kristina the love and support she needs at this time."

The events that have unfolded since Bobbi Kristina's hospitalization have gotten murkier, but E! News exclusively learned that police are also investigation the possibility of an eyewitness or witnesses that could have fled the scene the day she was found by Nick Gordon.

A source told E! News that police have been asking local storeowners whether or not they saw any suspicious people around Saturday morning prior to police arriving at Bobbi Kristina's home.

"[Police] were asking if they saw anyone jump the wall behind the house, or if anyone was seen leaving the area," a source revealed. "But no one recalled seeing anyone or anything suspicious. But the cops also were looking for video."

E! News has reported that Gordon and Max Lomas were inside the home when she was discovered.
