Funny or Die Takes on the Nationwide Super Bowl Commercial: It's a Bummer in Heaven, Too

This spoof is spot-on

Everyone can agree: That Nationwide Super Bowl commercial was a total bummer. No one wants to have to think about deadly accidents when they should be debating how many more plates of nachos to eat. Funny or Die agrees.

So, naturally, they decided to make a spoof. Because what better way to highlight the commercial's absurd timing, right? In FOD's version, things pick up after the infamous child shows up at Heaven's pearly gates. The angel guarding the doors is understandably peeved to have to listen to the kid's downer revelations ("I'll never get to be in a car accident." "I'll never get to choke on a hamburger."). And, as it turns out, God is a huge football fan and everybody upstairs is super annoyed about their Super Bowl being ruined.

The kid is really harshing the vibe up there—heaven is chill, y'all. Which means he's going to be sent, well, someplace else. (Spoiler alert: The devil's pretty pissed to see the Nationwide kid, too.)

It's too bad for the little boy, but I think we can all agree this is Nationwide's fault.
