It's safe to say "virgin" award recipient Rene Russo stole the spotlight at last night's 14th Annual Movies for Grownups Awards Gala at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills, hosted by AARP magazine.

The 60-year-old stunner accepted the award for Best Supporting Actress for her role opposite Jake Gyllenhaal in Nightcrawler, and upon taking the stage, the former model immediately proclaimed, "s--t," clearly in awe of the accolade.

"So I'm a virgin recipient, I've never won anything in my freaking life," she quipped to the crowd. "And Kevin Costner—I just gave you a lifetime achievement award. It's like, really?" she added, referencing Costner's Career Achievement Award, which was presented later in the evening.

"This is my first award ever. Thank you," she continued as she gripped her trophy. "Unless you count my 1999 Best Screen Kiss Blockbuster Award which I don't think counts. So thank you."

Russo proceeded to fight back tears as she thanked her mother, Shirley Balocca Russo, who was also in the audience to support her daughter.

"I want to thank my mom, who's sitting at the table," she said. "All the most amazing people are sitting at that table that got me to where I am now. So, she always told me to take time and smell the roses, and given some of your life challenges, that makes you the best mom in the world."

She then quickly added: "I'm sorry, I'm so f--king nervous! That's what happens when you never win anything."

Russo went on to thank her "8th grade Spanish teacher" and those in her adolescence "for getting me through those f--ked up, asshole football players that called me Jolly Green Giant. You didn't keep me from dropping out of high school--but you did keep me from killing myself."

She also thanked her longtime agent John Crosby for "making up for my deadbeat dad," before she joked that her award is "a lot better than the Golden Globe, which needs a face lift."

"So you know, this means a lot. This is from the oldest generation ever...and the greatest generation ever," she continued, later thanking "the greatest love of my life," husband Dan Gilroy.

Russo concluded by sharing her appreciation for the movie's producers and "everyone involved for making this an uncomfortable film and not forcing a sex scene in it" before reiterating her gratitude yet again.

Additional celebs who were honored at the event include Eddie Redmayne, Felicity Jones, Julianne Moore, J.K. Simmons and more.

Congrats on the award, Rene!
