When The Walking Dead returns with new episodes on Sunday, Feb. 8, Rick Grimes will take aim…at who or what exactly? Well, that we can't tell you. But as you can see in the exclusive photo above, Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) means business.

In "What Happened and What's Going On," the midseason premiere written by showrunner Scott Gimple and directed by zombie guru Greg Nicotero, the group tries to pick up the pieces after the recent hardships they faced. Beth (Emily Kinney) was rescued…and then killed. Eugene (Josh McDermitt) was revealed to be a liar. There is no cure in Washington, DC and their church safe haven has been overrun by walkers. They're aimless and homeless, but a slight detour could provide the solution they've been looking for.

"It feels like we're moving into a new show, it just feels like a new place visually and also story wise," Lincoln says in a video released in December.

There's going to a be a new face joining the fray too. Ross Marquand has been cast in a mysterious new role that is rumored to be Aaron, a gay character from the comic book series by Robert Kirkman that the show is based on. More zombies could be coming your way too. AMC is also working on a pilot for a companion series starring Kim Dickens and Cliff Curtis.

The Walking Dead airs Sundays, 9 p.m. on AMC.
