"I am officially quitting Schulman & Associates."

The time has finally come to say goodbye to one of The Mindy Project's fan favorite doctors and Tuesdays already feel a little less funny! In the Feb. 3 episode of the Fox sitcom, Adam Pally's Peter Prentice announces his plans to leave the practice and move to Texas, and we have your exclusive first look at his emotional goodbye.

So why is Peter leaving Mindy, Danny, Jeremy and the rest of the Schulman & Associates gang behind? For the best reason of all: love! Yes, it sounds like Peter could finally be getting his happily ever after with Lauren (Tracey Wigfield) and her son, Henry.

"It's our farewell episode to Peter Prentice," Mindy Kaling previews of "No More Mr. Noishe Guy" in the video above. e makes a big, bold life decision based on love, and it's really cool." All together now: awww! And in the clip, Peter delivers a hilarious and emotional goodbye to Mindy, "someone who means so much to me," he says at his farewell party. And again, all together now: awww!

Back in November, we reported that Pally will no longer be a series regular on The Mindy Project, with a source telling us Pally could potentially still appear in episodes throughout the spring depending on his schedule as he has a development deal with ABC Studios. And guess what? He's already filmed scenes for multiple episodes!

"When Adam come onto the show, we actually knew this for a year and a half," Kaling tells E! News of Pally's reduced role. "That had always been our plan, but America didn't know until a couple of months ago. But the thing that's great about Adam is we have a farewell episode for him, but he's actually in several episodes before the end of the year. If you didn't know he was going...he's in quite a bit of the episodes after his farewell. It's not a cold turkey situation!"

Phew!

The Mindy Project airs Tuesdays at 9:30 p.m. on Fox.
