I just got word that the Still Alice star and model daughter of Robin Wright and Sean Penn met for the first time after attending the Chanel show during Haute Couture Fashion Week in Paris.
They were introduced by mutual friends at Chez Castel, a source says.
"They were hanging out and chatting," the source said.
Another source reports that each thought the other was "pretty cool."
While Penn's romance with Pattinson, 28, didn't develop into anything serious, rumors they were dating popped up after the Twilight co-stars called it quits for good in May 2013.
Not only did Penn, 23, bond with Stewart, but I'm told she also really hit it off with Chanel guru Karl Lagerfeld. "They met and he was taking pictures with her," a source said.
Stewart has plenty to celebrate today.
Just this morning, she became the first America actress in 30 years to be nominated for a César Award. The 24-year-old actress received the nom (the Césars are the French equivalent of the Oscars) for her supporting work in Clouds of Sils Maria, an indie in which she plays the assistant of an aging actress (Juliette Binoche) trying to make a comeback.
Binoche was also nominated.
The Cesar Awards will be handed out Feb. 20 in Paris.
We cannot wait to see what Kristen wears.
