When it came to falling in love with her husband, Kate Bosworth initially wanted to play it safe.
The blond beauty graces the March cover of Marie Claire UK and gushes about how she was head-over-heels for her Big Sur director Michael Polish before they began officially dating.
"There are so many people that hook up on movies, and you wonder if that's real, so we didn't go there," she explained to the mag. "I think we were both experienced to know that if this was the real deal, we could wait to see what would happen."
And while we've all heard the clichés before, how did Kate know that her hubby was the one?
"It hit me, at about a million miles an hour—I almost fell off my chair. They always say, 'You know when you know,' and I had found that quite frustrating my whole life," the fashionista told the mag.
"I thought, yeah, but how do you really know? But it's true—he walked in and it hit me, like nothing I'd ever felt before. Meeting Michael honestly felt like coming home. It feels comfortable and secure and also exciting."
She continued, "I've never dated a hundred different guys. I've always had that desire to find my match in this life. If you had said to me at 25 that in just a couple of years I was going to be a stepmother, I never would have guessed. But because he was the right match for me—and so was Jasper—it felt totally effortless."
