We officially have our Steve Jobs!

After months and months of casting drama, the Danny Boyle-directed Steve Jobs biopic will star Michael Fassbander as the late Apple founder, Universal Studios confirmed Tuesday.

Kate Winslet will co-star in the flick as former marketing chief of Macintosh Joanna Hoffman. Seth Rogen will play Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak while Jeff Daniels will take on the part of John Sculley, the former Apple CEO.

The Steve Jobs movie screenplay was written by Aaron Sorkin.

Leonardo DiCaprio was originally supposed to play Jobs when the biopic was under the helm of director David Fincher at Sony Studios. After DiCaprio left the project, it was announced in November 2014 that Christian Bale would take over the lead role.

At the time, Sorkin said of Bale's casting, "What we needed was the best actor...You know, it's like the NFL draft. There are some people who make a science out of exactly...'We need to draft a middle inside linebacker who can do this' and other teams say, 'Who's the best athlete on the board?' We needed the best actor on the board, in a certain age range, and that's Chris Bale."

Sorkin may have spoken too soon because Bale dropped out just days later.

In addition to the finalized casting, Universal also announced yesterday that principal photography on the film has started in San Francisco.
