Liam Hemsworth may be getting himself one of those!

The 25-year-old Australian hottie, recently seen as Gale in The Hunger Games movies, has been offered a leading role in the upcoming sequel to Independence Day, The Wrap reported this week. He has not commented.

On Oct. 31, producer Harald Kloser posted his first tweet, which included a photo of himself with Hemsworth.

"Met this guy today," he said. "Liam is amazingly chill. Hope we get to work together!"

The movie, tentatively titled ID Forever, is set to hit theaters on June 24, 2016, almost 20 years after the release of the original.

Twentieth Century Fox greenlit the sequel in November. The movie will be helmed by original director Roland Emmerich. The script has undergone several rewrites, most recently by Carter Blanchard.

"Great choice for the lead in ID4ever!" he tweeted on Tuesday in response to the news about Hemsworth being offered a role in the movie. "Hope he accepts the offer."

The original 1996 blockbuster, a cult classic, made more than $817 million at the box office worldwide. The film also dubbed ID4, starred Bill Pullman as the U.S. president, Will Smith as a U.S. military pilot and Jeff Goldblum as a computer genius who attempt to save the world from an alien invasion that wipes out a large chunk of Earth's population..

Twentieth Century Fox greenlit the sequel in November. Pullman and Goldblum are expected to reprise their roles in the film, which is set to begin filming later this year. Smith, whose performance in the original helped make him an international movie star, will not return.

In 2013, Emmerich told Entertainment Weekly that the Independence Day sequel would be set 20 years after the original film. At that point, he said, more aliens invade Earth, which had been rebuilt following the first attacks (and as we know, their goal is for us to diiiiieeee...). Smith's character's stepson is one of the characters who will help fight them, he said.

Emmerich has not confirmed any cast members. In January, he and Kloser tweeted photos of themselves on a scouting location trip in Santa Fe.
