Naomi Watts Trips Over Emma Stone's Skirt, Zach Galifianakis Copies Julianne Moore's Speech After Birdman Win at 2015 SAG Awards

We can't call it mocking, but the Birdman star's timing is, as ever, flawless

Zach Galifianakis may not have made it into the supporting actor categories this awards season—but neither Birdman nor the 2015 Screen Actors Guild Awards would have been the same without him.

With the Birdman ensemble's big upset win over Boyhood coming hot on the heels of Julianne Moore's umpteenth best actress win for Still Alice, when it was his turn to say a few words at the microphone, he just copied what was supposed to be the funniest part of Moore's speech.

Moore had kicked off her thank-yous by recalling her soap opera days, saying, "When I was on As the World Turns—yeah!—I was so excited when they wrote two parts for me, you know, the classic twin sister role, the good and the evil one..."

Etc.

So Galifianakis just seized upon that, starting off his portion of the Birdman acceptance speech with, "When I was on As the World Turns" and then handing the mic over to Amy Ryan, who admitted gleefully, "There's no way to follow that, just thank you so much."

Boom!

We absolutely would not call it mocking but, as always, the funnyman's timing just happened to be flawless. He also pretty much stole the opening of the entire show, too, during the anecdote-followed-by-I'm-an-actor montage that always opens the SAGs. When the camera panned to him, he blankly looked up and said, "I'm an actor?"

And here we thought Naomi Watts tripping over Emma Stone's sheer skirt (Emma's face said it all) and absolutely losing it, letting out a big "Oh my god, wow!" as she excitedly approached the microphone to say a few words, would be the most memorable moment of what was a night that definitely ended on a high note.
