We once again put on our trendspotter goggles as stars hit the 2015 SAG Awards red carpet and found no shortage of statement-making looks.

First on our radar were stunning royal purple gowns, as worn to perfection by Camila Alves, Keira Knightley and Elizabeth Rodriguez. Camila's Donna Karan Atelier gave just the right amount va-va-voom, while the dress' velvety texture and deep plum color added a statement twist to the look. Keira's tiered Erdem frock with a sheer illusion neckline accentuated the actress' small baby bump and glowing complexion. And Elizabeth's sweet one-shoulder number was the perfect pop of color amid the sea of black, white and red on the carpet.

Another look to lust after? Sheer overlay gowns, which stars including Sarah Hyland, Emma Stone and Emmy Rossum sported on the red carpet. While Sarah's custom Vera Wang frock wasn't our favorite look of the night, we did appreciate the skirt's contrast to her crystal-embellished bodice. Emma's tuxedo-style Dior gown proved that a simple menswear-gone-sexy look can steal the spotlight during awards season.

And be still our hearts: Emmy's breathtaking Armani Privé gown proved that sheer overlay dresses are not only chic, but timeless to boot.

Cleavage was clearly in at the 2015 SAG Awards, with Julia Roberts, Maggie Gyllenhaal, and Jennifer Aniston just three of many who took the plunge. The low-neckline look is sexy without being overstated, which is why it's a trend we expect to see on the rise for the awards shows to come this season.

No shoulder straps, no problem! Felicity Jones (in Balenciaga), Alysia Reiner (in Christian Siriano) and Emilia Clarke (in Donna Karan Atelier) all proved that just a touch of décolletage can make all the difference.

Halter gowns were a major trend at the 2015 Golden Globes, but at this show, stars heightened the look with sexy key-hole necklines (à la Viola Davis in a custom Max Mara confection), unexpected twists (see Claire Danes' Marc Jacobs number) and bow-adorned straps (Exhibit A: Andrea Riseborough's Escada gown).

We never met a one-shoulder gown we didn't like: Case in point, Reese Witherspoon's stunning custom Giorgio Armani confection (not only one-shoulder, but one-sleeve too), Sofía Vergara's curve-hugging Donna Karan Atelier number and Natalie Dormer's gorgeous floral-and-white Naeem Khan dress.

It's awards show season, so obviously there's going to be some serious gam-action on the carpet (#neverforget Angelina Jolie's right leg). Tonight we couldn't take our eyes off sexy thigh-high slits, whether it was Sophia Bush in a tomato-hued Vivienne Westwood frock, Julianna Margulies in a billowing Giambattista Valli Couture gown or Irish actress Caitriona Balfe in a tangerine-colored Solace London confection.

One word to describe all the 3-D appliqué action on the 2015 SAG Awards red carpet: Glam-or-ous. Julie Bowen (in Georges Hobeika) and Julianne Moore (in Givenchy) not only made the best dressed cut, but their appliqué-adorned gowns were eye-catching (and lust-worthy) style  statements. Paula Patton wore an intricate Aiisha Ramadan confection (and gave us serious arm-envy while she was at it).

Slicked, straight locks ruled the red carpet, with stars like Sofía Vergara, Emilia Clarke and Maria Menounos wearing the sleek style to offset their high-drama gowns.

We found another major hair trend in the sleek, low-hung ponytail, as seen on Emma Stone, Julianna Margulies and Reese Witherspoon. Simple, understated and easy-to-recreate, this might be the look we rock to our next awards show viewing party.

Which trend was your favorite of the night?
