On Saturday, Blake Shelton hosted and performed on SNL, where he deemed himself the "Justin Bieber of Country Music."

The singer and The Voice coach also played himself in a skit that paid tribute to The Voice and American Idol, a Bachelor-like star and a magic show skeptic with crazy demands.

This marked the Saturday Day Night debut for Shelton, who performed his songs "Boys 'Round Here" and "Neon Light."

Hours before the live episode aired, his wife and fellow country star Miranda Lambert had concertgoers give him a shout-out at her gig in Charleston, West Virginia. She posted a video of it on her Instagram page.

Next week's episode, which airs on Jan. 31, will be hosted by Whiplash star, Golden Globe winner and Oscar nominee J.K. Simmons. D'Angelo is the musical guest.

Good luck Blake from Charleston, WV #SNL

Check out highlights from Shelton's SNL episode below.

1. Opening monologue: Tribute to Hee Haw and...Justin Bieber

In his opening monologue, the singer and The Voice coach explained that he is "kinda like the Justin Bieber of Country Music":

"Just a little trouble-making cutie," he added.

He then played an acoustic guitar and led the SNL cast on a hoedown that paid tribute to a variety show that he grew up watching, Hee Haw. The cast appears confused but is into it...for the most part. One of them requires a little more persuasion.

2. Farm Hunk

In a segment that appears to spoof ABC's The Bachelor, Shelton plays the star of a dating reality show who gets to know several contestants who have a similar, X-rated job on their resume, as well as another with a very morbid complex.

3. Celebrity Family Feud

In the world of SNL, if the coaches from The Voice went up against the judges from American Idol (past and present), Shelton and co-star Adam Levine would get rather turned on... And Kate McKinnon's portrayal of Keith Urban is captivating and terrifying.

4. "Darlin' Joan"

On the fictional and upbeat local news show Topeka Today, Shelton performed a morbid song that paid tribute to the late wife of an elderly man, played by Taran Killam. He wasn't too fond of his late spouse, to say the least.

5. Magic show skeptic

Shelton played a man who attends a magic show and obnoxiously keeps heckling the magician with inane requests, such as "Make me rich!" and "Give me indestructible bones, Wolverine claws!" and "I wanna be a black guy, just for one day" as well as an X-rated one.
