It was a romantic evening for Jennifer Aniston, Justin Theroux...and six other people!

The engaged duo met a group of friends, including Jen's longtime hairstylist Chris McMillan, at Mario Batali's Babbo in New York City's West Village neighborhood Thursday night, and it turned out to be a great evening! The large group sat in the front of the restaurant near the bar instead of the main dining room, where they cozied up in a half-booth-half-chairs table.

Ever the gentleman, Justin sat next to his ladylove where he had his arm around her and she had his hand on his leg. Could they be any cuter? (Friends has us talking like Chandler Bing.) An eyewitness tells E! News that "they were both very smitten with one another, and they acted very much like a couple."

The lively women of the group, who talked and laughed their way through the entire evening, took selfies with each other and eventually Justin photobombed them! The gang must have been looking to enjoy a low-key evening, as Jen was dressed in a casual outfit that consisted of a tank top and jeans and minimal makeup! Being the beautiful star that she is, however, she still looked effortlessly chic with a ponytail and bare face. Justin looked like his usual trendy self, pairing a hip sweatshirt with jeans.

Letting loose, Justin and Jen enjoyed two rounds of Stoli vodka on the rocks straight with lime (*our new drink order*) and split two entrees: the grilled ribeye for two with roasted potatoes, garlic, rosemary and aceto manodori for a whopping $120 and the spaghettini with fresh black truffles and parmigiano for $70. No expense was spared during this outing!

Our eyewitness tells us that she overheard Jen saying "that's all for us" when their entrees arrived, but it wasn't really the end because around 11:15 p.m. dessert arrived, and the restaurant sent over the entire dessert menu! Jen, who is known for her healthy lifestyle, must have been putting her diet on the back burner (just like us!) because she and Justin indulged in the warm apple "sottosopra" with apple crème fraiche gelato and the chocolate hazelnut cake.

Excuse us while we drool over here.

The whole table also enjoyed the Brachetto D' Acqui dessert wine.

"You could tell Jen was feeling good from the alcohol as well as everyone from the table," our source tells us.

Sounds like a great night!
