Talk about making history!

The Supreme Court announced on Friday that they will decide on several cases challenging state bans on same-sex marriage. Their ruling could mean a historic achievement for gay marriage all across the country.

In response to the groundbreaking news, Hollywood celebs are taking to Twitter and elsewhere to react to the exciting gay marriage reports.

"Yay! That's fantastic. It's about time," Ellen DeGeneres said today at the 2015 Winter TCA Press Tour for her new NBC series One Big Happy. "It's funny, I don't know if you've seen the movie Selma, but the thing that changed the civil rights movement was when white people got involved and starting marching. Until then it was nothing but violence and it continued to be for a while. But we need everyone on our side."

The funnylady continued, "We're trying to kind of do this march and we just need people who believe in equality and believe in fairness and love. So if we have people who will join us and give us that, which is only fair to have the same rights that everybody else has, then it's a wonderful world."

Meanwhile, other stars tweeted...

Billy Eichner: The Supreme Court has agreed to rule on gay marriage this year. In exchange, Ruth Bader Ginsberg will be the new host of Fashion Police.

Dustin Lance Black: BREAKING: The Supreme Court agrees to take on same-sex marriage... AGAIN. This time it must be equality for ALL.

Marlee Matlin: The Supreme Court will decide by June on the merits of what we already know: Marriage equality should be for EVERYONE. #LoveEquality
