It's been a quite an exciting day for The Theory of Everything stars Eddie Redmayne and Felicity Jones.

The two Brits learned that they were both nominated for Academy Awards for their exceptional performances in the Stephen Hawking biopic.

And while it's bound to be a special day for the actors, we're sure it's all that much sweeter given the fact that they're both first-time Oscar nominees.

Redmayne gushed to E! News about how he learned the extraordinary news this morning and admitted that his Academy Award nomination still has yet to sink in.

"It's a bit too much to get your head around," he told us today, with a huge smile.

The newlywed added that after his team informed him of the nom, he immediately called his wife who is currently in London.

"She was so euphoric and excited," she shared. And understandably so!

Jones also tells us how she woke up on Oscar nominations day, and just how thrilled she is to be included in this year's top performances.

Lastly, Common opened up to E! News about his nomination for the track "Glory" on the hit film, Selma.

He also discussed the movie's lack of nominations in other categories, making it one of the biggest snubs of the year.
