Watch: Anne Hathaway's #1 Marriage Secret

It was Johnny Flynn's first time, so his Song One co-star Anne Hathaway tried to make it easier for him by bringing some alcohol!

No, he wasn't losing his virginity, but it was his first time filming a sex scene. Hathaway, who has done quite a few in her career, tried to make him feel comfortable throughout because they can be a little awkward (we can only imagine).

"I just wanted to make sure that he knew he was totally protected, that it was a safe environment. We had a closed set, and I brought the Jameson so that helped, too," she tells E! News' Jesse Giddings. "In a love scene [whiskey] is kind of a prerequisite."

She and husband Adam Shulman have been together for six years thus far (two of which have been spent married), and she tells E! News that even though people ask her all the time what the secret is to a low-key Hollywood marriage, there actually is no secret!

"Every marriage is unique because person that is married is unique," she says, adding that it applies to relationships, too. "One thing that works for one couple doesn't necessarily work for another couple."

But what do she and her hubby do to keep their marriage together? Be honest about everything!

"Bring your most honest and authentic self with the other person," she says of the "secret" to her marriage. She previously told The Telegraph that marriage actually turned out to be something quite different from what she expected!

"When we got married, I thought it was a great party," the Interstellar star said. "I honestly thought we were doing it more for tradition. I wasn't prepared for the radical shift my heart was going to have."
