Ben Affleck is reteaming with his Gone Girl director David Fincher!

The 42-year-old actor will star in a remake of the classic Alfred Hitchcock thriller Strangers on a Train for Warner Bros. called Strangers. Fincher is set to direct and Gillian Flynn, who adapted her novel Gone Girl for the hit film, is in talks to write the script.

The 1951 Strangers on a Train followed the story of two strangers who meet on a train before negotiating a plan to carry out murders for each other. However, according to Deadline, the remake will star Affleck as "a movie star—in the middle of a campaign for an Oscar during awards season—whose private plane breaks down and is given a ride to L.A. on another plane by a wealthy stranger."

In other Gone Girl-related news, Flynn recently opened up about the possibility of there being a Gone Girl sequel in the future.

"There could be a sequel at some point if everyone is game to get the gang back together, it could be really fun a few years from now to pick it up and see what those crazy Dunnes are up to a few years down the road and if they got on—not well I don't think," she revealed.

Flynn added, "I would have to have the exact same people to do it—I would want Rosamund [Pike], Ben and Fincher to do it."
