Michael Keaton shed a tear or two during tonight's Golden Globes.

After winning Best Actor in a Motion Picture, Comedy for his role in Birdman Sunday, the 63-year-old actor gave an emotional speech that made him cry a little. "Thank you very much. Thank you," Keaton said from the stage. "The reason people go on about thanking so many people is there are always so many people to thank."

"In the household in which I was raised, the themes were pretty simple," he continued. "Work hard, don't quit, be appreciative, be thankful, be grateful, be respectful. Also don't whine ever. Don't complain and always, for crying out loud, keep a sense of humor."

Keaton went on to talk about his parents and being raised in Forrest Grove, Penn. He added, "I have six wonderful brothers and sisters. I have some tremendous, tremendous and loving generous friends all over the world. My best friend is kind, intelligent, funny, talented, considerate, thoughtful. Did I say "kind"? He also happens to be my son, Sean. I love you with all my heart, buddy."

After a long pause, Keaton got choked up and began to cry a little. "Shoot, two things I said I wasn't going to do: cry and give air quotes," he joked. "Damn. I'm so grateful, honestly, from the bottom of my heart. You have no idea what this means to me. To come from the place where I come from, I'm proud of all my friends and family. Thank you very much."
