Aww geez, everybody loves Fargo. The FX miniseries beat out Starz's The Missing and HBO's Olive Kitteridge, True Detective and The Normal Heart to take home the Golden Globe for Best Miniseries or TV Movie.

The first season of Fargo starred Colin Hanks, Allison Tolman, Martin Freeman and Billy Bob Thornton. Thornton took home the Best Actor in a Miniseries or TV Movie trophy.

"These days you get in a lot of trouble, no matter what you say," Thornton said while accepting his award. "So I'm just going to say thank you."

The second season of Fargo is set to star Patrick Wilson, Ted Danson, Jean Smart, Kirsten Dunst and Jesse Plemons. It's set in the 1970s with Wilson playing Lou Solverson, the character Keith Carradine played in the first season.

The FX series shut out HBO's True Detective, which was largely favored to take home Golden Globes.

In the Supporting Actor category, Matt Bomer took home the trophy for this work in HBO's The Normal Heart. Other nominees in the category included Bill Murray, Jon Voight, Alan Cumming and Colin Hanks. Bomer said he admired all his fellow nominees and thanked his costar Mark Ruffalo, HBO, his husband and his kids.

"Ryan Murphy, thank you for believing me and trusting me with this role…Larry Kramer, thank you for your anger and passion…"

Bomer dedicated his award to all who have lost their lives to HIV and are still battling it.

"We love you, we remember you," he said.
