From the Vatican to the streets of Hollywood, Angelina Jolie always seems to turn heads.

The 39-year-old actress and humanitarian stunned at the AFI Awards on Friday with hubby Brad Pitt by her side as the power couple posed for pics at the ceremony held in Beverly Hills, Calif.

Jolie's latest directorial effort, Unbroken, was being honored by the American Film Institute, and the Academy Award winner was seen beaming with pride as she waved to photogs and fans while representing her passion project.

The mother of six was dressed sharp and classy for the event, sporting one of her signature pantsuits which she teamed with sky-high black pumps and a matching clutch. She wore her brunette locks down in soft curls and added minimal jewelry to her ensemble, completing her look with bright red lips for a pop of color.

Jolie most recently returned from Rome, where she met Pope Francis at a screening of her film, which centers on the life of Louis Zamperini, the late Olympian and World War II hero.

"To be invited to screen Unbroken at The Vatican is an honor and a tribute to Louie's legacy as a man of faith and someone who exemplified the power of forgiveness and the strength of the human spirit," Jolie said in a statement obtained by E! News. "These are universal themes at the heart of the human experience everywhere."

The U.N. Special Envoy also brought along her two oldest daughters, Shiloh Jolie-Pitt and Zahara Jolie-Pitt, to her meeting with pontiff.  According to Business Insider, the actress, along with her brother and two daughters, met the 78-year-old religious figure in the throne room at the papal palace.

Meanwhile, Unbroken, is not nominated for any Golden Globe awards, nor did the film receive any love from the Screen Actors Guild, making the movie one of the biggest award season snubs
