This is going to be a tough year at the BAFTA Awards.

The Grand Budapest Hotel received 11 nominations from Thursday's announcement, with The Imitation Game following closely behind with nine nods. Both Birdman and The Theory of Everything, the Stephen Hawking-inspired film, are each nominated in 10 categories.

Cake, another 2014 film that has been getting some award buzz and stars Jennifer Aniston, was not nominated because it was not eligible.

To say the competition is fierce would be putting it lightly. The event will be hosted by Stephen Fry for the 10th time and will take place Sunday, Feb. 8, at London's Royal Opera House.
