Sure, most people would be racing to the altar if they were about to become Mrs. Eddie Redmayne.

Just not the actual future Mrs. Eddie Redmayne.

"My wife—it sounds so amazing just after you get married, even the terms sound new—she has never been on time for anything in her life," the Theory of Everything star told Ellen DeGeneres during a sit-down for today's Ellen, the newlywed obviously still basking in the glow of having recently swapped vows with Hannah Bagshawe after three years together.

"So my job was to find the venue and I made sure I found the place where we were having the reception was next to the chapel, so that when she didn't turn up on time I could go, 'Wait! We're coming!" Redmayne recalled. "But no, she was a good half-hour late. Her grandfather had to be some help from going and summoning her.

"And everyone else was really stressed, but I was kind of relaxed, knowing that she'd never been on time for pretty much anything in her life."

See? Even perennial tardiness becomes adorable when you're in love.

So, does this mean that Eddie and Hannah will be one of the last couples to hit the red carpet on the Golden Globes red carpet Sunday, where Redmayne is a frontrunner for Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture, Drama, for channeling Stephen Hawking in The Theory of Everything?

Well, not if Ellen gets to Bagshawe first!

"You'd think she'd be on time for her wedding!" DeGeneres insisted. "You think that'd be the one day she'd be on time. But that's very, very understanding of you."

Redmayne asked if she'd have a word with his spouse while she's in L.A. and, of course, DeGeneres said that she totally would.

Redmayne and Bagshawe tied the knot Dec. 15 at Babington House in Somerset, England, and then it was off on a romantic ski honeymoon, minus the skiing.

"We went to the Alps, which was such a beautiful idea, but unfortunately there was no snow," the groom revealed. "We basically...but that was just an excuse to take long lunches, drink a lot of red wine and have a lot of fondue."

So, Ellen's wedding gift for the couple makes perfect sense. Watch the clip now to see what Eddie and Hannah will be dipping into on chilly nights!
