George H.W. Bush Released From Houston Hospital

He had been admitted for shortness of breath

All is well for George H.W. Bush!

The former president was released from a Houston hospital Tuesday, after a weeklong visit due to shortness of breath. Spokesman Jim McGrath tweeted the news, thanking the hospital's staff for their great care.

"President Bush was released from @MethodistHosp today. He is now resting at home, grateful to the doctors and nurses for their superb care," he wrote.

The discharge came only one day after his breathing returned to "normal," according to USA Today.

The 90-year-old president, who often finds himself skydiving and doing other crazy activities, suffers from vascular Parkinsonism, which is a form of Parkinson's disease that requires him to use a wheelchair to get around. It seems like the disease hasn't slowed him down, though, because he is always up to something fun!

Although he no longer has the use of his legs, he was most recently spotted at an event in November at Texas A&M University with his son, former President George W. Bush.

This hospitalization comes one year after his wife', Barbara Bush's, treatment for a respiratory-related issue. She has suffered various health issues over the past few years, including an ulcer and an aortic valve replacement.

Thankfully both appear to be in better health!
