Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb aren't the only ones having fun on Today—everybody's part of the song and dance that brings us the morning news!

On Monday, Today: The Musical premiered on NBC, giving viewers a theatrical look at what goes into making TV every day of the week. The 14-minute production, written by Gifford herself, featured a guest appearance from Regis Philbin, but it was Sal Cacciato—the props guy—who was the real breakout star!

Cacciato, who really does work in Today's props department, has dreams of Broadway stardom. When Philbin overhears him singing, he's impressed, but he can't believe Cacciato is working behind the camera in props!

"Props, the musical?" he asks.

"No," answers Cacciato. "Props the job!"

"No, no no, no way! With chops like that, forget about the props…You gotta be on Broadway, pal," he says. "That's where you're headed."

Before the props guy can conquer the Great White Way, though, he has to prepare Philbin for his upcoming performance. But when the former morning show host unwittingly eats some bad mystery meat that "sets my vocal cords on fire," he finds himself unable to take the stage.

So can Cacciato save the day?! Will he get his moment in the spotlight and finally have his own chance to be heard?! Watch the clip above to find out!
