And in Kendra Wilkinson-Baskett's case, that rule certainly applies to her family!
Although the Kendra on Top star has spent much of 2014 chronicling her marital struggles with Hank Baskett, the proud mom appeared to be all smiles as she kicked off Christmas week by the beach.
"Beautiful day," the WeTV star shared on Instagram while enjoying a group lunch with Hank, their son, Hank Jr., and other family members.
The fun didn't exactly stop there. The former Playboy Mansion resident also went down to the ocean to try her hand at paddleboarding.

Staying extra close to shore, Kendra tried to find her balance before a small but mighty wave approached her. What came next was an epic wipeout caught on tape.
"SO that really didn't go as planned," she wrote on her Keek video. "LOL." At least we can give you an A for effort.
Unfortunately, the fun quickly came to an end Tuesday as Kendra and her two kids started feeling under the weather.
"Me, Lil Hank and Alijah are sick today," she tweeted to her fans. Perhaps the water was a little too cold for comfort after all.
Despite some uneasy feelings before Christmas, Kendra and her family have shown plenty of signs of a healthy family dynamic this winter season.
Earlier this month, the family of four put on a united front when they headed to a Christmas tree farm to pick out the perfect holiday accessory.
According to an eyewitness, the couple "seemed like they [were] trying to move forward and put their past behind them."
And although the day was focused mostly on the kids, the couple couldn't help but show some signs of affection. "Kendra and Hank were constantly smiling," the eyewitness added. "They seem like they are in a good place."
