The actress and the boys of One Direction are teaming up for Saturday Night Live's Christmas-themed show, airing this week, and the host really pulled out all the stops to try and win over Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik and Liam Payne in the three hilarious promos released today.
But did it work? Ehhh.
One of the clips shows Adams trying to act nonchalant around the handsome singers, even though she really wanted to freak out like most of their fans. She almost pulled it off. Another promo showed Amy getting a little more creative by sneaking in some mistletoe, but they weren't falling for that, either.
"Mistletoe? Who put that there?" she pretended to wonder. "You did. You said we had to kiss you. Otherwise we can't do SNL," the guys responded. Sorry Amy, no kiss for you.
But she did manage to get carried by the celebs, and that's more than most of us can say. "Should we put you down?" they asked after she recited her tagline for the show. "Oh, don't you dare," she answered. Thatta girl!
A promo released earlier in the week showed Adams, alongside comedian Taran Killam, freaking out over Tomlinson. "Louis is coming!!!" she screamed, before going nuts on camera as Taran attempted to calm her down. LOL!
Although 1D is appearing as the musical guest, the boys have revealed that fans will see them getting some acting in, as well. "It's definitely good to be back and this time we're getting a little bit more involved," Horan told Access Hollywood. "They're putting us in a few skits, and it's gonna be quite fun. We just rehearsed one now with Amy and it's going to be a good time." Can't wait to see!
One Direction will also be airing their first U.S. network special next week on NBC!
One Direction: The TV Special, a primetime musical event on Dec. 23, "will offer a rare inside look at the wildly popular band through a combination of documentary material, comical stunts and musical performances."
Additionally, viewers will see exclusive behind-the-scenes footage from the South American leg of their 2014 Where We Are Tour and follows the band as they recorded their new album Four on the road, and perform their special intimate concert for lucky fans at Universal Orlando Resort.
"We're really proud of our first TV Special," the band said in a statement. "We had a great time filming the different parts both in Orlando and on the road in South America. We can't wait for our fans to see it."
