The Colbert Report came to an end after 10 seasons as host Stephen Colbert prepares to take over The Late Show from David Letterman. Letterman's final show is set for May, but Colbert's premiere has yet to be scheduled. The show will continue to film in New York.

"Stephen Colbert is one of the most inventive and respected forces on television," CBS president and CEO Les Moonves said in a statement when Colbert was announced as Letterman's replacement. "David Letterman's legacy and accomplishments are an incredible source of pride for all of us here, and today's announcement speaks to our commitment of upholding what he established for CBS in late night."
