When you're as cute and talented as Ansel Elgort, everybody wants you on their team.

The 20-year-old Divergent star made his sexual preference quite clear Wednesday when he addressed gay rumors on Twitter, writing, "Just in case it isn't clear... I like girls. A lot."

But that wasn't the only thing Ansel wanted to get off his chest! "Also let me say if I was gay I wouldn't hide it," he tweeted. "Being gay or straight isn't bad or good it just IS. U are who you are. Be true to yourself."

The native New Yorker is a supporter of the LGBT community. In fact, back in May, he and Nat Wolff recreated a version of The Fault In Our Stars movie poster for their gay fans, subbing Nat in for Shailene Woodley. He's also, per Deadline, set to portray gay pianist Van Cliburn in an upcoming biopic.

In real life, though, Ansel was actually dating a lovely lady—his high school girlfriend Violetta Komyshanup until a few months ago. A source told Us Weekly that Ansel's burgeoning career and hectic schedule was the real reason for the couple's August split.

"They tried to navigate his commitments, but between filming and press for the movies [it got difficult]," a source explained to the mag.

He shouldn't have any trouble jumping back into the dating pool—when the time is right, of course!
