Consumerism's really gone to crap these days, hasn't it?

Cards Against Humanity made quite a stink about that on Black Friday when they sold boxes of "bulls--t"—each one actually filled with poop—to some 30,000 people for $6 a pop.

Per AdWeek, Cards Against Humanity's website advertised the gimmick for exactly what it was: A box containing "literal feces, from an actual bull." Some conspiracy theorists thought that there might be something hidden within the poop, but alas, it was just a cow pat.

The reason for doling out dung on the biggest shopping day of the year? As Cards Against Humanity co-creator Max Temkin told Time, it was pretty simple. "We all really hate Black Friday," he said.

"It comes after this day where you're supposed to be thankful for what you have, and then it's just this whole huge media spectacle of people fighting each other to save $50 on a TV," he went on.

"We also had the idea of issuing people a one penny off coupon, but that felt weird because it was still a deal," he said. "That's sort of still doing Black Friday."

"It's sent, it's out, it's done… Initially we got a dozen people who were really surprised it was poop, but it was just actual poop," Sam said.

But if you were one of the geniuses to spend your hard-earned money on poop, don't fret: You donated (unwittingly, but it counts) to a good cause! Per Time, Cards Against Humanity made 20 cents on each $6 sale, and profits went to Heifer International, a charity giving livestock (and sustainability) to help communities rebuild.
