Actor Dimitri Diatchenko, who appeared on shows such as Sons of Anarchy and 2 Broke Girls, was recently arrested and charged on suspicion of killing and eating his ex-girlfriend's pet rabbit and threatening to do the same to her.

The 46-year-old faces one felony count of cruelty to an animal with the use of knife and another felony count for allegedly making criminal threats, the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office said in a statement to E! News on Thursday. Diatchenko is due to be arraigned in court on Dec. 30.

His manager had no immediate comment. A Twitter account linked to the actor on Thursday featured a tweet that read, "Not true."

The Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office said in its statement that Diatchenko and his ex had continued to live together for some time after their romantic relationship ended.

"Diatchenko killed the rabbit and made the threat on Dec. 7, after the victim said they should no longer be roommates," it read.

Prosecutors say that while the actor's ex was not home, he killed, skinned, cooked and ate half of her rabbit and then sent her "step-by-step pictures" of the acts. When she returned home, he allegedly told her he would do the same to her, they added.

Diatchenko was taken into custody that afternoon and was released almost 24 hours later after posting a $50,000 bond, records show.

Police have launched an investigation, prosecutors said, adding that Diatchenko faces a possible maximum sentence of four years and eight months in jail if convicted. Prosecutors plan to ask at his arraignment that bail be set at $90,000.

Diatchenko also lived with a pet English bulldog, as seen in a photo posted on his Twitter page.

The actor, who is from San Francisco, played a Russian gangster on season 4 of Sons of Anarchy, which ended its run this past Tuesday, and portrayed Yuri on an episode of the comedy series 2 Broke Girls earlier this year.

He also appeared on shows such as BonesBurn NoticeThe Suite Life of Zack and Cody and Walker, Texas Ranger, as well as the movies The Chernobyl Diaries and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.
