This should be a hoot!

Amy Schumer will host the 2015 MTV Movie Awards, the network announced Wednesday night. The 24th annual event show will tape live at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live on Apr. 12 and air at 9 p.m. ET.

The comedienne, who once competed on NBC's Last Comic Standing, broke the news by taking over all of MTV's social media accounts—including Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Tumblr, Twitter and Vine—to reach more than 210 million fans. "I am honored to be hosting the awards," the Trainwreck star said in a statement. "I will carry the audience with me like a teen mom #breaktheinternet #breakmywater."

"Wickedly funny and sharply insightful, Amy Schumer is perhaps the most ascendant talent in comedy today and she's on the brink of an epic year," Stephen Friedman, president of MTV, tells E! News. "We are thrilled to work with Amy to create an unpredictable and hilarious showcase for Hollywood's biggest blockbusters and brightest stars in what promises to be the most combustible Movie Awards ever."

The nominees will be announced at a later date.

Schumer joins an impressive list of people who have hosted the MTV Movie Awards. Previous emcees include Conan O'Brien (2014), Rebel Wilson (2013), Russell Brand (2012), Jason Sudeikis (2011), Aziz Ansari (2010), Andy Samberg (2009), Mike Myers (2008), Sarah Silverman (2007), Jessica Alba (2006), Jimmy Fallon (2005), Lindsay Lohan (2004), Seann William Scott and Justin Timberlake (2003), Jack Black and Sarah Michelle Gellar (2002), Kirsten Dunst and Fallon (2001), Sarah Jessica Parker (2000), Lisa Kudrow (1999), Samuel L. The next year is shaping up to be a busy one for Schumer. The same month she will host the MTV Movie Awards, Inside Amy Schumer will also return to Comedy Central for a third season. In July, Universal Pictures will release Trainwreck, a comedy she wrote and developed with director Judd Apatow. It also stars Vanessa Bayer, John Cena, Bill Hader, LeBron James, Brie Larson, Colin Quinn and Tilda Swinton. Schumer is also executive producing a Comedy Central pilot starring Rachel Feinstein.
