Kate Hudson and Matt Bellamy's breakup certainly seems to be an amicable one.

The Muse rocker, 36, was all smiles Tuesday night when he and bandmate Dominic Howard were spotted leaving Chiltern Firehouse, a hotel and restaurant in London. Bellamy also took to Twitter to thank fans for their support and reassure them that he and Hudson, 35, are "both very happy" after having called off their engagement.

"It's for the best," he wrote. "Thanks for your kind words. Now about that new album..." (Bellamy told Rolling Stone last year the band was planning to release a new, stripped down album sometime in 2015.)

Music won't be the star's only post-split focus, though. Per Bellamy's rep, he and Hudson plan to be "committed co-parents" to their 3-year-old son Bingham Hawn Bellamy. The rocker's rep also noted that Bellamy and Hudson, who has another son from her marriage to Black Crowes singer Chris Robinson, "remain very close friends" in the wake of their breakup.

Despite rumors claiming Hudson has moved on with dating Dancing With the Stars' Derek Hough, she and Bellamy really do seem to be on good terms. Last month the pair was all smiles as they walked the LACMA Art + Film Gala red carpet together. Hudson also confirmed to E! News that Bellamy would be part of her family's Thanksgiving celebrations.

"It's about 20-plus of us all together," she said . "We watch football with the kids."

And Bellamy, a Brit, watches, too! "They have another kind of football," joked Hudson, "but he's up for anything!"

Maybe one day he'll be up for a reconciliation—never say never!
