Chasing Life, we're in a fight with you right now.

After leaving us hanging for months wondering if Leo (Scott Michael Foster) was alive or dead, if he decided to get the surgery or had an accident—or if we was even in the hospital at all!—all thanks to that mysterious voicemail, the ABC Family drama left us hanging once again by the end of the Christmas special when he started to code during his brain surgery!

Another Leo cliffhanger?! You can't keep toying with our emotions like this, Chasing Life!

ABC Family

When the show returns in 2015, will our new favorite TV crush survive his surgery?

"I keep getting these cliffhanger episodes!" Foster told E! Online with a laugh. "I just can't say anything or tell you what's going to happen, but obviously there is going to be a resolution to the surgery. Now, whether it goes badly or well, I can't tell you. But there's so many ways it can go, since even if he makes it out alive there is still going to be a long road to recovery. I hope everyone stays tuned to find out!"

When we pressed Italia Ricci—who plays Leo's love interest and fellow cancer patient April—for scoop on Leo's fate when Chasing Life returns, she wouldn't drop any hints. (Grrrrr.)

"All I can say is I was so happy that at least we had Leo for one more episode, for the Christmas special!" Ricci said.

But Foster was more than happy to share his dream resolution.

"I like Leo and playing him has been a lot of fun," Foster said, "so if I had my way, he would have a full, 100 percent recovery and come out of the surgery and live happily ever after with April! That would be my wish."

One spoiler Ricci did drop about Chasing Life's return next year?

"There's going to be a bit of a time jump," Ricci said. "It's going to be a couple months later. Not too long. You'll see April's hair starting to grow out in and in different levels and she tries out a wig and sees how that works. She'll wear really cute headbands and works with what she's got!"

Chasing Life returns January 19 at 9 pm on ABC Family.
