Saturday Night Live took on the controversy surrounding Ferguson, Mo., in a sketch that never made it into Saturday's show this weekend.

In the clip, SNL cast members Cecily Strong and Kenan Thompson play local morning show hosts in St. Louis following the grand jury's decision not to indict Darren Wilson after Wilson fatally shot and killed Michael Brown. Things get super-uncomfortable as the two stars talk about Ferguson unrest before accidentally making racially charged comments.

Thompson asks Strong how her weekend was and she deadpans, "Spent it holding a fireplace poker and protecting my property."

Thompson then describes a local marathon as the "most superior race in town." "Why would you write that phrase?" he asks as the audience laughs.

Then Strong mentions an upcoming Black Keys concert but it sounds like she says "blackies," as in a racially offensive term for African-Americans.

Later, guest host James Franco plays a chef who shows the anchors how to make a frittata with only the "whites" of eggs. "Use the whole damn age!" Thompson suggests.

Things only go downhill when Franco reveals his character's name: Darrel Wilson! Watch the funny unaired SNL clip for yourself.
