Anna Kendrick is getting back to her Broadway roots!

The trailer for the highly anticipated film adaption of Jason Robert Brown's musical The Last Five Years has finally dropped and it does not disappoint.

Kendrick shines as the lead role of Cathy Hiatt, a struggling actress who sings through the breakdown of her relationship with her novelist partner, Jamie Wellerstein, played by Jeremy Jordan of Smash.

The film is slated to hit theaters on Feb. 13 of next year, but debuted at the 2014 Toronto International Film Festival last September.

And despite Brown's success with the musical, it seems that critics initially felt the movie couldn't quite reach the high notes.

In fact, The Hollywood Reporter called the future flick "a skeletal anatomy of a marriage, in song."

But we'll judge for ourselves, and if the trailer is any indication, we're in for a real treat.

And if you weren't sure whether or not you'd get your fill of Kendrick's crooning in the coming months, fret not.

The actress stars as Cinderella in Into the Woods, which will be released on Christmas Day, and will reprise her role as a Barden Bella in Pitch Perfect 2.

The latter is said to be released in May 2015, so not too much of a wait following The Last Five Years.

Earlier this month, the trailer for the upcoming sequel made its way online—and we almost couldn't curb our excitement.

Elizabeth Banks took to her website to explain everything that went down in the action-packed preview.

"I've been hard at work in the editing room on Pitch Perfect 2 and I'm thrilled that you all finally got to see the trailer," she wrote.

"Now that you've had a chance to digest, speculate and generally freak out (just breathe, Bechloe shippers.), let me break it down for you real quick… The crazy world of collegiate a cappella has not gotten any less crazy since the first movie."
