I just got back from the laid-back set of Farmhouse. It's a thriller that features Steven Weber and Kelly Hu as bloodthirsty, horny demons. Literally, demons. I will tell you more about the movie in the coming weeks, but first, we gotta talk Brandon Molale.

Rumors are flying that Brandon is up for the part of Captain Marvel in the Shazam movie. The other main contender, if you believe fanboy message boards, is The Rock. So, of course, I grilled Brandon about the excitement. And it was tough, because all I wanted to do was talk about Dodgeball. How great was Brandon as Blazer? Okay, okay. Onto the comic talk.

So tell me about all this Shazam excitement. They say you may be the man.
There's a lot going on. My name and The Rock are the two names. I had people contact me over a year ago about this. So I said, Hey, you know what, look. If there's any DC or Marvel character that I look like, it's this guy. The similarities are ridiculous. I said I would love to do it.

How are you doing with all the tension and the excitement of a possibility like this?
You know what, at the studio they might want to go the whole route and have a big star. But then again, I look at what Brandon Routh did for Superman. He just did soap operas. He hadn't done a whole lot. Not to take anything away from him, he's a good actor, but he hadn't done a whole lot. But he's not an established actor, same with me. You've seen me in a lot of stuff, but I'm not an established guy. But hey you know what, give me the opportunity.

Have you gone in for a screen test?
No, the script hasn't even been written yet. But I'm just flattered that they're even considering me. I was shocked. They're making every comic-book movie as it is, and it's like, you know, I know my abilities as an actor. I'm a good actor. I just need someone to give me something I can sink my teeth into.

Do you have your agents pursuing this?
You know, I've got people pursuing this. You got to make it happen. You can't rely on just one person to make it happen. You got to have multiple people out there working it for you.

Have you run into The Rock at all?
You know, he works out in my gym, and I've known Dwayne for years. I was in The Rundown with him. So, it's, like, he's a great guy.

I hope you teased him about this whole situation. Yeah?
There's a character named Black Adam in the Captain Marvel world. And he's actually evil. And [The Rock] looks a lot more like Black Adam than he does Captain Marvel. So, I would love to see him play the bad guy. You don't ever see Dwayne play the bad guy…and who doesn't want to be the villain?!

Sounds like that should make everyone happy. Problem solved!
