James Franco and Mila Kunis costarred last year in Oz the Great and Powerful, but while they were filming the big budget fantasy flick, they were also doing something much more indie.

The two were shooting The Color of Time, a film based on the life of Pulitzer Prize-winning poet C.K. Williams.

Franco plays Williams with Kunis as his wife and mother of their young son. The movie focuses on Williams as he prepares for a reading in New York City, but he's having trouble creating new work as he struggles with memories of his past.

And only we have an exclusive clip that features Franco giving Kunis a foot massage as they quietly argue about whether to go out or stay in.

"I don't think we always have to be on the go," Kunis says. "I just don't share that. I don't. I think it's OK to sometimes just stop and breath for two seconds. I don't see anything wrong with it."

Cut to a lingering shot of Kunis sitting on the bed and then Franco taking a seat at a desk with a typewriter. As we hear him typing in the background, the camera captures a beautiful shot of Kunis laying her head on a pillow.

The Color of Time was actually made by 12 directors from a graduate class Franco taught at New York University about directing poetry.

Rounding out the cast are Jessica Chastain, Bruce Campbell and Zach Braff, who also appeared in Oz.

The Color of Time is being released tomorrow by Starz Digital on iTunes and VOD. It will be in select theaters on Dec. 12.
