Christopher Walken as Captain Hook in Peter Pan Live! Was the Best Gift to the Internet

From his ridiculous dance moves to his habit of just reading from cue cards, the 71-year-old was a running joke in the NBC musical

We tried. We clapped as hard as we could. Our palms were bleeding by the sheer velocity of our hands slapping together to save it. But alas, we were too late. Our clapping did not save Christoper Walken on Peter Pan Live!

Look, he's Christoper Freakin' Walken, and he can do whatever the hell he wants. He's an amazing actor and we adore him. And actually, this is what we expected to happen when you put someone like him, at 71 years old, in a sassy Captain Hook outfit and make him perform live. While his performance was lackluster at best, we did get one thing out of Walken's Hook portrayal: the gift of comedy.

Obviously the Internet had a field day with him. That's what the Internet does, especially when it's handed a beautiful, perfect gift like Christopher Walken playing a drag queen Captain Hook.

Actually, Christopher Walken wasn't the true star last night. Nope, it was all about the "gay crocodile."

Thanks for the laughs and memories, Peter Pan Live! We will never forget:
