Watch: Chris Rock Talks Rosario Dawson as a New Mom

Chris Rock may know better than any of Rosario Dawson's co-stars just how natural motherhood has become for the 35-year-old actress.

The star of Top Five recently opened up to E! News on the red carpet about the star's decision to adopt a 12-year-old girl.

"Yeah [it's] so great, I met her. She's lovely," Rock shared with us, adding, "Rosario's going to be an amazing mother. She already is an amazing mother. She's got an amazing mother, so it rubs off."

Just yesterday, a source confirmed the adoption adding that the first-time parent is "over the moon."

"She has always wanted this," our insider explained of Dawson, who is currently single after splitting with director Danny Boyle last year.

Dawson spoke about her own upbringing in an interview with Latina magazine back in 2008, saying, "I always wanted to adopt kids 'cause my Dad adopted me."

"That idea has stayed in the back of my head, but lately, I've been thinking about it more. My mother and grandmother are extraordinary women, and they're getting older," she explained."

"It struck me recently that one day I might be sitting around with my children, going ‘Your grandma was an amazing woman; I really wish you could've known her.' That makes me sad 'cause it would be a waste to not have these people know each other. Whatever time I have, I want it."
