Beat Ben @ the Box Office: Sunday's Best?

Ice Cube has to be the most successful rapper turned actor in the business. He's made critically acclaimed films (Boyz n the Hood, Three Kings) as well as much more commercial hits (Are We There Yet?).

He stars this weekend opposite Tracy Morgan and Katt Williams in First Sunday, which he produced under his Cubevision banner with partner Matt Alvarez. Look for the film to open strong, but I don't think it will put up huge numbers. It doesn't have any word of mouth, because, frankly, it's not that good.

My Call:  Look for First Sunday to open at just over $17 million.

Here's Why:  Not bad, considering National Treasure is still going strong, and everybody will be watching playoff football this weekend. Well, maybe not everyone—but I will be!
