Michael Brown's parents, Lesley McSpadden and Michael Brown Sr., are slamming Darren Wilson's account of the day he shot and killed their son.

On the Today show, Brown's father said that the Ferguson police officer's version of events was "crazy" and "disrespectful."

"For one, my son, he respected law enforcement," he continued. "Two, who in their right mind would rush or charge at a police officer that has his gun drawn?"

The family's attorney, Benjamin Crump, told Savannah Guthrie, "When you have people of color be killed, they try to demonize and play the stereotypes, and they try to put the police officer who killed our children on a pedestal. It's just not right and we have to fix this system."

McSpadden explained that the last 36 hours have been "sleepless, very hard, heartbreaking and unbelievable."

Brown's dad added, "We're just going to keep fighting and pray for a better outcome."

And in an exclusive sit-down with ABC News' George Stephanopoulos, Officer Wilson briefly opened up for the first time about how he's trying to find a "new normal" in his personal and professional life.

He admitted that it's been "stressful" living in a nearby town in hiding, saying, "You're always wondering if someone'll recognize you, if someone is following you."

Wilson, who revealed that he got married recently and is expecting a baby, also said that he has no regrets about Aug. 9.

"I don't think it's haunting," he explained. "It's always going to be something that happened. The reason I have a clean conscience is that I know I did my job right."

And when asked about how he plans to move forward, the 28-year-old told Stephanopoulos, "We just want to have a normal life. That's it."

He continued, "I would love to teach people. I would love to give more insight on…into the use of force and anything I can. Anything that I can get out of this career I've had so far and of the incident, I would love to give to someone else."
